Anthropic is rolling out a new set of Claude tools aimed at financial services teams that want AI to handle routine analysis and operations work. The company said it is releasing 10 ready-to-run agent templates for tasks such as building pitchbooks, screening KYC files, reconciling accounts, and closing the books at month-end.

According to Anthropic, the templates are available as plugins in Claude Cowork and Claude Code, and as cookbooks for Claude Managed Agents. The company said firms can use them to put Claude to work on real financial workflows in days rather than months.

⚡ New to this?

This news is about Anthropic adding prebuilt AI agents for finance work and expanding Claude’s connections to business tools and data. An AI agent is software that can carry out multi-step tasks with some independence, while governed access means the system only reaches approved data sources and tools. Financial firms care because these tools can affect research, compliance, and operations work that used to take a lot of manual effort.

If you build self-hosted agents, use this as a blueprint for separating skills, data access, and sub-tasks instead of stuffing everything into one prompt. Build your finance workflows with explicit connectors to approved systems, plus audit logs for every tool call and decision, so reviewers can trace what happened later. If your stack spans Excel, docs, and email, keep context portable across tools rather than forcing users to restate the same task at each handoff.

The templates are organized around two broad areas: research and client coverage, and finance and operations. Among the new agents are a pitch builder, meeting preparer, earnings reviewer, model builder, market researcher, valuation reviewer, general ledger reconciler, month-end closer, statement auditor, and KYC screener.

Anthropic said each template is built as a reference architecture that combines skills, connectors, and subagents. Skills provide instructions and domain knowledge, connectors give governed access to the data the task uses, and subagents handle narrower jobs such as comparables selection or methodology checks.

The company said firms can adapt the agents to their own modeling conventions, risk policies, and approval flows. Users can enable them either as plugins in Claude Cowork or Claude Code, or as cookbooks for Claude Managed Agents in the financial services marketplace.

Anthropic also said Claude now works across Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook through Claude add-ins for Microsoft 365. The company said the add-ins let context carry automatically between applications, so work started in one app can move into another without re-explaining the task.

In Outlook, Anthropic said Claude can triage inboxes, schedule meetings, and draft responses in a user’s voice. In Excel, it can build models from filings and data feeds, audit formulas across linked workbooks, and run sensitivity analyses. In PowerPoint, it can draft decks that update when the underlying numbers change. In Word, it can edit credit memos against a firm’s own templates.

Anthropic said the Microsoft 365 add-ins are generally available for Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, while Outlook support is coming soon. The company added that users in Claude Cowork can assign tasks through Dispatch by text or voice and let Claude keep working on local files while they are away from their desk.

The company is also expanding the data sources Claude can use in financial workflows. Anthropic said Claude already connects to market data, research platforms, and internal systems from firms such as FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, MSCI, PitchBook, Morningstar, Chronograph, LSEG, and Daloopa.

New partners include Dun & Bradstreet, Fiscal AI, Financial Modeling Prep, Guidepoint, IBISWorld, SS&C IntraLinks, Third Bridge, and Verisk. According to Anthropic, those connectors provide governed, real-time access to data such as verified business identity, fundamentals, expert interview transcripts, industry forecasts, deal room documents, and insurance information.

Anthropic also said Moody’s has launched an MCP app for Claude. MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is a way to embed a provider’s own tools directly inside Claude, and the company said the Moody’s app brings proprietary credit ratings and data on more than 600 million public and private companies.

The company said the updates pair best with Claude Opus 4.7, which it described as advanced on financial tasks and as leading the Vals AI Finance Agent benchmark with a score of 64.37%. Anthropic cited customers and partners including FIS, Carlyle, Walleye Capital, D&B, Morningstar, PitchBook, and FactSet as examples of financial firms using Claude across research, risk, operations, and engineering.

Anthropic said the new finance agents are available today in its financial services marketplace. The plugins are available on paid plans in Claude Cowork and Claude Code, and the Managed Agents version is in public beta on the Claude Platform. The new connectors and Moody’s MCP app are also available to joint customers on paid plans.
